Young and Adult Learners

English is a skill for life.  It broadens their view and provides future education and career opportunities.  For young learners, it’s important to make the learning experience and environment comfortable and safe to practice and discover.  Whatever their character, it’s important to engage and encourage equally if they are to learn English.

Adult learners can also learn the English language, although some may find it harder.  The biggest temptation is to use their mother tongue and translate English to remember what they’re learning.  Also, bad habits tend to be harder to change, and with a language it’s important to get it right at the earliest opportunity.  For some a heavy accent can mean, for example, having to repeat what they said.   For many, having an accent will always be a part of their speech, but this part of who you are.
